These terms of use (“Terms”) govern your use of www.onedegree.hk, as well as the other websites (each a “Website” and together the “Websites”), (collectively "Sites") that link to these Terms and are operated by OneDegree Hong Kong Limited (“OneDegree”), and its affiliates, (collectively “OneDegree” or “we” or “us” or “our”).
By continuing to use the Sites, you unconditionally acknowledge and agree to the Terms. If you do not agree with any Terms, you should immediately stop using the Sites. Moreover, OneDegree reserves the right to suspend or terminate your use of the Sites and your personal account (“Account”) in case of reasonable suspicion of a breach of the Terms without prior notice.
OneDegree reserves the right to amend, modify, or replace any of the Terms from time to time. The latest version of the Terms will be posted on the Sites and become effective immediately upon posting. By continuing to access and use the Sites, you unconditionally acknowledge and agree to the latest version of the Terms.
Certain services, contents and functions of the Sites are only available to registered OneDegree’s member (“Member”). You may become a Member by registering online at our Website.
1.General Terms
a) You may register to become a Member with your email address, or with your Google or Facebook credentials.
b) You are responsible for providing an email address that is valid for receiving Verification code for login purpose and for notifying us of any change of your email address from time to time.
c) You shall be solely and entirely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of the login information and any other information in respect of your Account and responsible for all activities that occur in connection with the Account. In no event shall OneDegree be responsible or liable for any loss or damage in relation to the unauthorized use of the Account by any person.
d) You agree to immediately notify OneDegree of any unauthorized use of the Accounts or any other breach of security with respect to your use of the services.
e) Registration of Account may be refused by OneDegree at its sole and absolute discretion, and you agree that OneDegree is under no obligation to send you any alert, notice or explanation regarding OneDegree’s rejection of registration of Account.
f) OneDegree reserves the rights to deactivate or cancel any Account at any time as it deems necessary.
g) The information that you provided to OneDegree for registering as Member will be dealt with in accordance with OneDegree’s Privacy Policy, and OneDegree strongly recommends you to read the said OneDegree’s Privacy Policy prior to registration as the terms stated therein are binding upon you.
2.Login
a) Activities Tracking
When you login the Account using social media accounts, such as Apple, Facebook, or Google, please be aware that these third-party services may track your activities on the Sites. This can include collecting information about your interactions, preferences, and usage patterns. Their tracking is governed by their respective privacy policies and terms of service. Information collected by these third-party services may be used for various purposes, including personalized advertising, analytics, and service improvements. OneDegree does not control how these third parties use your data.
OneDegree is not responsible for any data collection, usage, or tracking practices employed by Apple, Facebook, or Google when you log into your Account. You are encouraged to review their privacy policies and terms of service to understand their data handling practices. By choosing to log in the Account with third-party social media accounts, you acknowledge and accept the potential tracking of your activities. You are responsible for understanding and managing your privacy settings on these third-party platforms. For instructions concerning deletion of your activities on Facebook, please refer to “How do you delete your activities for OneDegree's Facebook login app? ” in our FAQ.
b) Specific Terms for Using Apple Login with Hidden Email
When you choose to log in to your Account using the "Sign in with Apple" feature and select the option to hide your email address:
- You acknowledge that due to the nature of using a hidden email address, OneDegree will not have record of your email address associated with your Apple Login and we will send you emails through the encrypted email address provided by Apple. In some cases, this encrypted email may fail to work and you may not receive emails from OneDegree, including but not limited to transaction records, notifications, updates, promotional offers, and service announcements. It is your responsibility to ensure that you monitor your email address associated with your Apple Login to ensure you receive emails from OneDegree. OneDegree shall not be held liable for any consequences or damages arising from the use of a hidden email address, including but not limited to, those resulting from missed emails, delayed emails, or leakage of emails. If you find that you are not receiving emails from OneDegree, please contact OneDegree's customer service for assistance.
- If you attempt to purchase an insurance policy through the Account logged in with a hidden email address, a pop-up will guide you to log in with your actual email address to finalize the purchase. OneDegree shall not be held liable for any issues, discrepancies or loss of best offers that arise from using a hidden email address during the purchase process, including but not limited to loss of promotional discount, inability to purchase insurance policies, or any other relevant consequences.
- 1.Consent for Credit Card Information Storage
- With your express consent, OneDegree may save your credit card information to the Account when you enter such information for the first time and may automatically fill in relevant information in your future purchases. You may be asked whether you would like to save your credit card information each time you enter new credit card information.
- By consenting to the credit card information storage service, you agree that OneDegree may share information regarding your device, payment, location, and account with Stripe. To understand more about how OneDegree may handle your personal data, please refer to OneDegree’s Personal Information Collection Statement. Stripe's privacy policy may differ from that of OneDegree. All failures, errors or omissions of the payment gateway shall be solely on Stripe. OneDegree is not responsible for any dispute that you may have with Stripe for any wrongdoing of the payment gateway.
2.Consent for Handling Credit Card Information by Stripe
- OneDegree has adopted Stripe as the payment gateway service provider. By purchasing on OneDegree’s website, you give consent to OneDegree and Stripe to update your card information in accordance with Stripe’s terms and conditions.
- When your card issuing bank notifies Stripe directly about an updated card, Stripe may replace the old details such as the old expiration date or card number with the new details. In addition, if your card was saved to Stripe before it expired, it may continue to be charged after its expiration date. The decision to allow the charge to go through is entirely up to your issuing bank, and which may permit these charges to avoid unnecessary disruptions for the customer. OneDegree is not responsible for any dispute that you may have with Stripe for any wrongdoing of the card update.
3.Deletion of Credit Card Information
With your express consent, OneDegree may delete your credit card information from the Account. As part of the authorization you provided to OneDegree, your credit card information will also be removed from Stripe.
4.Account Access by Others
If you allow others to log into the Account, it will be considered as an authorization for them to use the stored credit card information in the Account. Therefore, unauthorized transaction terms will not apply.
5.One-Time Password for Account Access
OneDegree will send you a one-time password to your registered email address for you to log into the Account. If you consent to storing credit card information in the Account, you are responsible for ensuring that:
a) You do not share your email address with others, meaning it is for your exclusive use only.
b) You should treat your bank password and email password with the same level of care, including:
- Not disclosing the password to others.
- Not using easily guessable passwords, such as your date of birth or identifiable parts of your name.
- Not leaking or disclosing your password by reason of grossly negligent conduct or omission.
The Sites hold information about insurance products (each a “Product” and collectively the “Products”). Please read in detail the terms and conditions specified in the Declaration and Authorisation Statement, Personal Information Collection Statement and policy wording OneDegree provided at the checkout page, which are specific to each Product. The terms in those documents prevail over all other information on the Sites.
You agree not to use any of the Sites for any of the purposes which are expressly prohibited below:
1.Interference with Operations
You are prohibited from interfering with, disrupting or violating, or attempting to interfere with, disrupt or violate the operation, security, servers or network of the Sites (including but not limited to accessing data not intended for you, logging into a server or account you are not authorized to access, attempting to probe, scan or test the vulnerability of a system or network, attempting to breach security or authentication measures without proper authorization, attempting to interfere with service to any user, host or network or sending unsolicited emails).
2.Malicious Usage of the Sites
You shall not use the Sites (i) for uploading, posting, publishing, transmitting, distributing, circulating or storing material that violates any applicable laws or regulations; (ii) in any manner that will infringe the copyright, trademark, trade secrets or other intellectual property rights of others or violate the privacy or publicity or other personal rights of others; (iii) in any manner that is illegal, harmful, defamatory, libelous, obscene, discriminatory, harassing, threatening, abusive, hateful or is otherwise offensive or objectionable. In particular, you shall not access, print, download, duplicate or otherwise copy or use any personally identifiable information about other users without his/her express permission. Sending unsolicited communications of any type to other users is strictly prohibited.
3.Legal Capacity
You shall not use the Sites if you do not have the legal capacity to form legally binding contracts.
4.Malicious Content
You shall not upload or post any advertisement or materials on the Sites that contain any false, inaccurate, misleading, libelous content, computer viruses, trojan horses, worms, computed files or other materials that may interrupt, damage or limit the functionality of any computer software or hardware or telecommunication equipment.
5.Fraudulent Information
You shall not upload or post any materials involving the sale or provision of any illegal products or services or any materials containing fraudulent information.
6. Spamming
You shall not engage in spamming in any form.
7.Assignment and Transfer
You shall not assign or transfer any rights or obligations under these Terms to any third person without OneDegree’s prior written consent.
8.Account Usage
You shall not allow others to use the Account to access or use any Sites.
9.Compliance with Laws
You shall not use the Sites in any manner that violates any applicable laws and regulations.
By uploading, posting, or creating any materials on the Sites, you unconditionally grant OneDegree a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free right to exercise the copyright, publicity, and database rights you have in the materials. This allows OneDegree to use, publish, host, display, promote, copy, download, forward, distribute, reproduce, transfer, edit, sell, and re-use the materials in any form and anywhere, with or without making any commercial gains or profits, and carry out the purposes set out in the OneDegree’s Privacy Policy and herein.
1.OneDegree's Intellectual Property
Except for the contents uploaded by Member, all contents of the Sites, including but not limited to the text, images, information, comments, layout, database, graphics, photos, pictures, or audio formats, software, brands, and HTML are the intellectual properties of OneDegree which are protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws and may not be downloaded, copied, modified, reproduced, printed or distributed in any way except that you may download and/or print a copy of such materials for your own legal and non-commercial uses.
2.Restrictions on Use
Any use of such content other than those permitted under the Terms, or the terms and conditions of any specific Sites is strictly prohibited. OneDegree reserves all rights in this respect. You acknowledge that you will be solely responsible for any adverse consequences arising from your breach of copyright laws and/or other intellectual property laws.
3.Third-Party Consent
For the avoidance of doubt, any purported consent of any third parties on the use of the contents and materials mentioned under this Clause shall not exonerate you from the restrictions/prohibitions imposed hereunder in whatsoever manner.
4.Use of Ideas
You agree that OneDegree is free to use, disclose, adopt and modify all and any ideas, concepts, proposals, suggestions, comments and other communications and information provided by you to OneDegree in connection with your use of the Sites without any remuneration or compensation to you.
5.Waiver of Claims
You hereby waive all and any rights and claims for any consideration, fees, royalties, charges and/or other payments in relation to OneDegree’s use, disclosure, adoption and/or modification of such ideas, concepts, proposals, suggestions, comments and/or other communications and information.

You acknowledge that OneDegree may not pre-screen or pre-approve certain content posted on the Sites or any content sent through the Sites. In any event, OneDegree takes no responsibility whatsoever for the content on the Sites or any content sent through the Sites, or for any content lost and does not make any representations or warranties regarding the content or accuracy of any material therein.
2.Improper Use by Third Parties
Any materials uploaded or posted on the Sites by you may be viewed by users of other websites and/or media platforms and/or applications linked to the Sites. OneDegree is not responsible for any improper and/or illegal use by any user or third party from linked third party websites and/or media platforms and/or applications of any data or materials posted on the Sites.
3.Third-Party Links
Links to third party websites and/or media platforms and/or applications provided on the Sites are provided solely as a convenience to you and as internet navigation tools, and not in any way an endorsement by OneDegree of the contents on such third-party websites and/or media platforms and/or applications. Unless otherwise stated on the Sites, OneDegree has no control over or rights in such third-party websites and/or media platforms and/or applications and is not responsible for any contents on such third-party websites and/or media platforms and/or applications or any use of services provided by such third party websites and/or media platforms and/or applications by you.
4.Responsibility for Posted Materials
You acknowledge and agree that you are solely responsible for the form, content and accuracy of any materials, web page or other information placed by you.
5.Responsibility for Third-Party Content
OneDegree is not responsible for the content of any third-party websites and/or media platforms and/or applications (regardless of whether they are linked to the Sites), and does not make any representations or warranties regarding the contents or accuracy of materials on such third party websites and/or media platforms and/or applications. If you access any third-party websites and/or media platforms and/or applications via hyperlinks on the Sites, you do so entirely at your own risk.
6.Right to Remove Content
OneDegree shall have the right to remove any materials uploaded or posted on the Sites, to expel you from and prevent your further access to the Sites (by way of, including but not limited to, terminating the membership accounts and blocking your Internet Protocol addresses) at its sole discretion without any notice, compensation, or recourse to you if OneDegree considers at its sole discretion that you have breached or are likely to breach any law or regulations or the Terms or any terms and conditions of any specific Sites.

OneDegree may not monitor the Sites at all times but reserves the right to do so.
2.Agency Disclaimer
OneDegree shall not in any way be considered an agent of any user with respect to any use of the Sites and shall not be responsible in any way for any direct or indirect damage or loss that may arise or result from the use of the Sites, for whatever reason made.
3.Error-Free or harmfulness-Free Operation
OneDegree does not warrant that the Sites will operate error-free or that the Sites and the server are free of viruses or other harmful mechanisms. If use of the Sites or the contents result in the need for servicing or replacing equipment or data, OneDegree shall not be responsible for those costs.
4.As-Is Basis
The Sites and the contents are provided on an “as is” basis without any warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, OneDegree disclaims all warranties, including, without prejudice to the foregoing, any in respect of merchantability, non-infringement of third-party rights, fitness for particular purpose, or about the accuracy, reliability, completeness or timeliness of the contents, services, text, graphics and hyperlinks on the Sites.

a) Accuracy of Materials
OneDegree does not have control over and does not guarantee the truth or accuracy of listings of any materials posted on the Sites or any content on third party websites and/or media platforms and/or applications accessed via the Sites.
b) Uncontrollable Events
OneDegree shall not be liable for any default of obligations or duties directly or indirectly caused by or resulted from any causes beyond OneDegree’s reasonable control, including but not limited to Internet failure or any system default.
c) Service Availability
OneDegree does not guarantee uninterrupted, continuous and/or secure access to the any Services via the Sites. Part of or the entire Sites may be unexpectedly unavailable for whatever duration and for whatsoever reasons that may include but not limited to system malfunctions and disruptions, Internet access downtime and other technical problems beyond OneDegree’s control for which OneDegree cannot and shall not be held responsible. OneDegree reserves the right to take any part or the whole of the Sites offline with or without notice for reasons including but not limited to system maintenance or upgrading.
d) Informational Content
The contents of the Sites, such as text, graphics, images, and other material contained the Sites are for informational purposes only. Such content is not intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
e) Endorsements
The Sites do not recommend or endorse any specific tests, physicians, products, procedures, opinions, or other information that may be mentioned on the Sites.
f) Reliance on Information

g) Limitation of Liability
In any event, OneDegree, its officers, directors, employees, agents, partners, representatives, shareholders, servants, attorneys, predecessors, successors and assigns shall not be liable for any losses, claims or damages (including but not limited to direct, indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential damages, loss of business or profit) directly or indirectly suffered by any user whatsoever and howsoever arising or resulting from or connected with (i) any user’s ability or inability to use the Sites, their contents or the services, including negligence and disputes between any parties; (ii) any user’s use of any services or products provided by any merchants or advertisers; and/or (iii) any performance, non-performance, conduct or policies of any merchants or advertisers.
