OneDegree Group Strengthens Leadership Team with Two Key Appointments
8 January 2024 – OneDegree Group announced two key appointments to OneDegree Global, the leading technology company incorporated in Singapore and OneDegree Middle East, the newly established entity aims to facilitate the strategic expansion into the Middle East market.
Michelle Ip Appointed as CEO of OneDegree Global
OneDegree Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Michelle Ip as CEO of OneDegree Global, the leading technology company that offers IXT modern insurance core solutions and Cymetrics cybersecurity services to insurers and enterprises incorporated in Singapore and with presence across Asia.
Alex Leung, co-founder of OneDegree, says: “Michelle will be leading both IXT and Cymetrics businesses. Her deep understanding of our technology business and culture uniquely positions her to lead us into a future of success.”

Michelle Ip has more than 12 years of experience in insurance and insurtech start-ups, including greenfield market entry, oversight and business development across multiple countries in ASEAN like Cambodia, Myanmar and East Asia. She is a professionally trained CPA and started her career at PwC at auditing and corporate transactions.
Her career in the insurance industry started at AIA on the strategy team before moving onto Manulife eventually becoming Associate Director. Michelle was previously the founding member of iFWD (FWD Hong Kong), the no.1 digital insurer in Hong Kong between 2015-2018. In April 2018, Michelle co-founded her first start-up, Sugar AI, a fintech startup which was later integrated into bolttech.
Michelle joined IXT in 2022 as the VP of Strategy and later promoted to Chief Commercial Officer, helping IXT to expand its footprint to Korea and Malaysia. Michelle completed her Master’s degree in International Relations at the London School of Economics.
Robin Scott Appointed as General Manager of OneDegree Middle East
As part of its global expansion plan, OneDegree Group has recently established OneDegree Middle East and appointed Robin Scott as the General Manager. These strategic appointments are effective as of 1 January 2024.
Alvin Kwock, co-founder of OneDegree Group, says: “OneDegree set up a Middle East task force back in 2023 to capture the Middle East and Hong Kong corridor for economic cooperation and fintech development. Middle East has favourable demographics with a rising young population, open policy for foreign investment and global talent, and a 6-country strong Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) economic and political union.”
He added, “Robin will combine his role as General Manager of Middle East with his existing role as General Counsel in OneDegree Group, he will play a pivotal role in driving growth in the Middle East market and delivering exceptional value to our clients.”
Robin officially joined OneDegree full-time in 2021. Prior to OneDegree, Robin worked at a leading South East Asian conglomerate in legal and transformation roles. He began his career as a lawyer, working in the London, New York and Hong Kong offices of Freshfields. He holds an MA from the University of Cambridge.
