We have wrapped up our “OneDegree 4th Anniversary Pawful April” celebration with the remarkable “Adoption Day: Boundless Love, Furever Homes” event over two fun-filled days (27 & 28 April) at AIRSIDE in Kai Tak. Despite challenging weather, many animal lovers turned out in support, resulting in 100+ adoption applications received by our six animal partners. Some lucky furbabies even leaving with their new families that very day! A huge thank you to Paws Guardian Rescue Shelter, Love Adopt Animal Society, Big Tree Animal Sanctuary and Adoption Centre, Cats’ Zone Animals Charity, Hong Kong Parrot Rescue and Hong Kong Abandoned Turtles’ Concern Group for joining us in our adoption efforts. Your collective dedication to spreading the message of “adopt, don’t shop” have helped these furry, feathered and scaly friends find their furever homes where they will receive a lifetime of love and care they truly deserve.
Opening Ceremony Kicks Off Adoption Fun
Our Pawful April celebrations achieved great success thanks to the active participation of our animal partners, vet Dr. Angel, and the support of our PawTogether Club “Paw-bassadors.” It was a pleasure meeting our supporters and all the human and animal friends in attendance! The opening ceremony, hosted by 903 DJ Ah Jeng, provided a platform to express our gratitude and allowed rescues to share heartwarming stories, giving participants valuable insights into their missions and the important work they do.
Six Rescues Unite for Adoptions
For the first time, six local animal charities came together, showcasing a variety of rescued cats, dogs, turtles, tortoises, and birds – each one strayed or abandoned. Participants had the opportunity to meet these adorable animal friends, learn about the adoption process, and discover how they can provide a loving home for pets of different species. With their sweet souls and charming faces, these animals have the potential to become cherished family members, sharing boundless love for a lifetime.
Free Vet Consultations
On 27 April, registered vet Dr. Angel provided complimentary on-site consultations and basic vet check-ups for participants. Pet parents eagerly sought care tips, aiming to ensure the happiness and well-being of their furry friends for many joyful years ahead.
More Fun for All
The Adoption Day not only celebrated adoption but also created a delightful gathering for animal friends. Fun snapshot spots allowed owners to capture sweet moments with their beloved animal companions, while Grind & Brew Café generously provided free cold drinks to help everyone beat the heat.
Words cannot fully convey the multitude of happiness experienced during the Adoption Day. We sincerely hope this memorable weekend brought joy and meaning to all human and animal participants. We look forward to our next gathering!
